Outside broadcasts are all part of keeping our listeners up to date with everything

happening in their area. Here you see the team at the Weald and Downland Museum.

In this and the next picture you can see ex CATN Chairman Jane Windsor receiving not one but three top national prizes at the TNAUK Conference in Norwich Sept 2002.

TNAUK (Talking Newspaper Association of the UK) hold a National Talking Newspaper Competition each year when Talking Newspapers are asked to submit a news tape and a magazine tape to be judged by a panel for content, readers voices, interest, information and technical standard to mention just a few. As there are over 200 Talking Newspapers throughout the UK, competition is tough so you can imagine the excitement of both volunteers and listeners at the news of winning such an accolade.

The CATN AGM October 2002.

This event has become far more than a business occasion, it is an event which is very much looked forward to by all concerned, well over 100 people attend Lavant Village Hall where when the business is dealt with and questions answered, refreshments are served and the evening concludes with entertainment. The Mayors of Chichester have always supported us over the years, and we were able to report another highly successful year, where the organization has forged ahead both technically and financially.

This totally FREE SERVICE is available to anyone who cannot read for themselves, and whose life would be enhanced by receiving our tapes, keeping them informed and in touch in the area in which they live. News is taken from the Chichester Observer Series of Newspapers, which includes Bognor, Midhurst, Petworth & Chichester.

We are proud of our new state of the art equipment which puts us in the forefront of Talking News technology, in fact Chichester is one of the first Talking News Organisations with such an advanced system.
